What is SetonixSynth?

SetonixSynth is an independent music technology company specializing in the design and production of Eurorack modular synthesizers.

This company is a project by audio engineer and musician Jack Schoonover. Our modules are designed and manufactured in Westport, NY, USA.

Our story

Jack Schoonover of SetonixSynth first got into synths in the late 2000s as a college student, feeling particularly drawn to the spontaneity and strangeness of the school’s large 1970s-era Serge Modular system. After graduating, he wanted to continue making music with modular synths, and the most affordable way to do this was through Synth DIY. This proved to be a gift and a curse, as the craft of building modules proved more addictive than making music!

After about 10 years of building Synth DIY projects for himself and a growing clientele, Jack founded SetonixSynth in early 2021. The first SetonixSynth module, the Boing! Discrete Transistor LPG, was released that fall. It drew praise (and a little criticism!) for its unique, tuned-by-ear sound.

Since then, we have released several other noteworthy modules such as the Marsupial and Macropod filters and a line of blank panels and accessories. We are continually iterating and improving our techniques, but will always remain committed to embracing the spontaneous and unknown in our approach and designs.

Recently we have collaborated with Columbus, OH-based company Tidbit Audio on our most ambitious and successful designs yet, the Psychedelic Voltage Processor and Solar Gravity modules for Eurorack.

Through thick and thin, SetonixSynth remains committed to providing our customers with high quality and unique products. Thank you for your interest!
